Waffles Stuffie Making Guide

Follow the step by step guide below to sew your own Waffles Stuffie.  Fabric available soon.


ITEMS NEEDED:

Sewing machine, yellow and orange thread, sewing needle, Official Waffles Stuffie Fabric, Polyfil, scissors, clips/pins,  pair of chopsticks and patience.

Cut out pattern...

...but be sure to leave a little extra white around the ears and bottom of body.

Pair each leg/arm with corresponding piece...

...pin/clip right sides together and sew, leaving the bottom open.

Pair the tail with corresponding piece...

...pin/clip right sides together and sew, leaving the bottom open.

Sew arms and tail together with yellow thread and a 1/4" seam allowance.

Flip tail and arms with 2 chopsticks.

Fill arms and legs with Polyfil. I use the tip of a funnel I cut off to help stuff.

Stop stuffing about a finger width at the end.

Clip/pin the two half body pieces with the right sides touching. Then clip/pin tail between those pieces at the 2nd yellow stipe from the bottom.

Sew together with a 1/4" seam allowance. 

TIP: Reverse stitch over the tail for a stronger hold.

Clip/pin arms/legs in correct positions according to guide.  Paws on legs should be facing up. Paws on arms should be facing down...

...all arms and legs should be sandwiched between the right sides of the body. It's easier to clip/pin one side at a time as you're sewing.

Start at the bottom and sew around edge, with a 1/4" seam allowance. Stop short at the bottom, leaving a small hole.

TIP: Reverse stitch over the arms and legs for a stronger hold.

Trim excess white fabric along the ears.

Flip inside out through the hole left at the bottom.

Use a chopstick to help poke out ears.

Start filling ears with small pea sized pieces of Polyfil. Use a chopstick to help...

...then continue filling the rest of the body.

Hand sew the bottom hole closed with an invisible (ladder) stitch. Use the orange thread.

Finished!
