Nick Mask grew up in North Georgia drawing superheroes and watching Saturday morning cartoons. As a boy, he joined scouting and fell in love with backpacking and fishing. He moved to Montana after college to live in the mountains and follow his dream of being an artist. In Montana, he was given a cat and decided to name her Waffles after his love for food. She later became the inspiration for his children's books.
